HON. MOSES YARKPAZUO KOLLIE MINISTER OF LABOUR, REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA

Chief Hon Moses Yarkpazuo Kollie is a professional Public Administrator with over 12 years of practical managerial skills, National and International experienced as Legislator. He has an exceptional and specialized training in Financial & Economic Management, Budgeting, Good Governance and Taxation from the West African Institute of Financial and Economic Management   (WAIFEM) in Lagos, Nigeria. He is currently the Minister of Labour of the Republic of Liberia and the first appointed Government Minister over 21 years to address the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland.

He is the First National Chairman of the Liberia People Democratic Party (LPDP) and First National Vice Chairman for Administration of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

Educationally, in 2013, he earned a Master Degree in Public Administration (MPA), University of Liberia. Between 2008 & 2009, he earned two certificates in Legislative Budgeting and Good Governance from the University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Atlanta Georgia, USA. He also holds a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration (BPA), Minor in Management from the University of Liberia in 2008.

In 1995, he again obtained a professional Certificate as a trained Customs Officer, Bureau of Customs & Excise of the Ministry of Finance (MOF) now Ministry of Finance & Development  Planning (MFDP), Republic of Liberia.

Professionally, Hon. Moses Yarkpazuo Kollie has held several top level postilions in both the Public and private sectors as he has also served as Chairman, Board of Directors, Curran Lutheran Hospital located in Lofa County, Northern Liberia for over eight (8) years.  

Being passionate about the transformation of his country as Minister, Hon. Kollie along with his team has taken some practical steps in transforming the Labour sector of the Republic of Liberia with the mandatory implementations of the Decent Work Act of 2015 in line with the Pro_poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).

Prior to his appointment as Minister of Labour, the distinguished national and selfless leader was overwhelmingly elected as  Representative  in 2005 & 2011 respectively representing the People of District number Five (4 ) and now District number five (5) in Lofa County. As Representative, he severed a twelve (12) unbroken Years beginning 2006 to January 2011.

At the Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, he served as Chairman on the House Standing Committee on Investment & Concessions for six (6) years at the same time, served as Head of Delegation for nine (9) years to the African, Caribbean, Pacific and European Union (ACP-EU) Joint Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, Belgium.

During his second term at the House of Representatives, Hon Moses Yarkpazuo Kollie also served as a Member on the House of Representatives’ National Budget Committee for ten (10)   years and later became Chairman for two years on said Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Lofa County Legislative Caucus, Republic of Liberia for several years.

As a Civil Servant, Hon. Moses Yarkpazuo Kollie served as Customs Officer at the  Ministry of Finance (MOF) now Ministry of  Finance & Development  Planning (MFDP) for eleven (11) years. He also served as First Vice President, Civil Servants’ Association of the Republic of Liberia for several years.
